ALGASL Conducts Disaster Management Training in Baligubadle District
Baligubadle, May 2, 2025 – Recognizing the critical importance of local government capacity building amid recurring droughts in Somaliland, the Association of Local Government Authorities of Somaliland (ALGASL), with support from the Danwadaag Program, conducted a disaster management training for the administration and staff of Baligubadle District.
The training focused on enhancing skills and knowledge in disaster preparedness, risk assessment, emergency response, and community engagement, equipping district officials to respond effectively to hazards and minimize risks to local communities.

ALGASL and VNG International Present Risk Profiles for Hargeisa Districts
The Association of Local Government Authorities of Somaliland (ALGASL), in collaboration with VNG International, today held a presentation meeting to share findings from the recently developed Risk Profiles for various high-risk areas in Hargeisa.
The meeting, attended by the nine District Commissioners of Hargeisa and key directors from the Hargeisa Local Government departments, aimed to enhance understanding of urban risks and strengthen preparedness across the capital.
