ALGASL Conducts District-Level Disaster Management Training in Baki

Baki, Somaliland

April 27, 2025 – The Association of Local Government Authorities of Somaliland (ALGASL), in partnership with VNG International and the Danwadaag Project, conducted a district-level disaster management training for the administration and staff of Baki District.

The training aimed to strengthen local government capacities in disaster preparedness, response, and risk mitigation. Participants acquired practical skills in hazard identification, emergency planning, and community engagement, enabling effective disaster management at the district level.

This initiative is part of a nationwide program designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of Somaliland’s local governments. By the end of the year, the program will reach all electoral districts, reinforcing collaboration between local authorities, communities, and partner organizations.

Through programs like this, ALGASL continues to advance its mission of empowering local authorities, building resilient communities, and ensuring safer living environments across Somaliland.
