ALGASL and VNG International Present Risk Profiles for Hargeisa Districts

The Association of Local Government Authorities of Somaliland (ALGASL), in collaboration with VNG International, today held a presentation meeting to share findings from the recently developed Risk Profiles for various high-risk areas in Hargeisa.
The meeting, attended by the nine District Commissioners of Hargeisa and key directors from the Hargeisa Local Government departments, aimed to enhance understanding of urban risks and strengthen preparedness across the capital.
The session was officially opened by Hargeisa Mayor, Mr. Abdikarim Ahmed Mooge, and attended by the Hargeisa Disaster and Risk Management Office, which works closely with all nine districts of the capital to improve disaster risk reduction and response planning.
This initiative reflects ongoing efforts by ALGASL and its partners to empower local governments with accurate data, strengthen inter-district coordination, and ensure a safer and more resilient Hargeisa.
